Can Your Will be challenged?

In some circumstances we may consider some members of our family or people and organisations (such as charities) outside the family to be more deserving or needier than others. As a result, a disgruntled family member may occasionally react to inheriting less than they anticipated, or nothing at all, by threatening to challenge the Will in court to gain a larger share.

If you are concerned about your Will being challenged, speak to a solicitor who is an estate planning specialist who can work with you and your financial adviser. The laws regarding estate challenges differ from state to state. You can certainly take steps to minimise the likelihood of claims being made but they cannot be entirely avoided.
